"Unsinkable Atheism," the 14th Annual Atheist Alliance International (AAI) Convention, will be held the weekend of September 25-28, 2008 on the Queen Mary.

Atheist Centre is holding the Seventh World Atheist Conference at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, on January 5-7, 2009 (Monday through Wednesday) on the theme “March of Atheism”.

India is not only a land of religion, but also of atheism, humanism, rationalism, secularism and forethought. The whole world is moving slowly, but steadily marching towards a post-religious society.

The MySpace Atheist and Agnostic Group, which had been deleted, was restored.

The blogger "Kareem Amer", who criticized Egypt’s government and religious institutions, was sentenced to four years of prison for inciting hatred of Islam and insulting the president. Reporters without borders protested against the verdict. (2007-Feb-25)

At this time of momentous challenges and difficulties for our planet, this gathering of Atheists, Humanists and Rationalists from around India and the world understands that concerted efforts from all people of good will are needed to bring about real change.

Speech given at the conference "Leading culture Humanism and Enlightenment" on October 3, 2005 in Cologne

It is great to be back. The first conference I attended as president of the Atheist Alliance International was in Speyer in 2002. Since that time, the AAI has grown in size and in scope, and our challenges met can bring us some satisfaction, while the challenges now looming serve to keep us from resting on our laurels.
